Information Literacy Standards

 

The student who is information literate will be able to:

  • access information efficiently and effectively.
  • evaluate information critically and competently.
  • use information accurately and creatively

The student who is an independent learner will be able to:

  • pursue information related to personal  interests.
  • appreciate literature and other creative expressions of information.
  • strive for excellence in information seeking and knowledge generation. 

The student who is socially responsible will be able to:

  • contribute positively to the learning community and to society and recognize the importance of information to a democratic society.
  • contribute positively to the learning community and to society and practice ethical behavior in regard to information and information technology.
  • contribute positively to the learning community and to society and participate effectively in groups to pursue and generate information.
